Kratos Demonstrates All-Digital Multi-Mission Edge Capability

Connecting to the Edge with OpenSpace and Kymeta

Today’s landscape requires ubiquitous communication between LEO, MEO and GEO. Shifting from closed, proprietary hardware to a virtualized, standards-based software-defined ground infrastructure allows automatic synchronization with digital assets both on the ground and in space.

Preview the Industry’s First Implementation of DIFI Compliant Digital Terminal Capability Running on Standards Based COTS Hardware

Within a Tactical H2 vehicle, Kratos will be showing a connectivity to the Internet where anything could be available on a screen. In parallel, modem performance associated with the streaming connection and a view of the RF spectrum as seen by the antenna will be accessible.

Kratos OpenSpace Hummer

Demonstrating Low SWaP and Cloud Connectivity

The importance of this demonstration is showing the ability to obtain satellite connectivity leading to both an Internet connection and RF spectrum data from a single generic x86 computer operating as a digital satellite terminal. The act of connecting to the Internet and accessing RF spectrum data would normally take several pieces of hardware equipment and other resources such as space and power.

Data received by the terminal can be digitized and streamed in a standardized format that is cloud-enabled and readily accepted by partners operating in the same command or different domain - supporting principles of interoperability within JADC2.

Learn More About OpenSpace

The OpenSpace Platform is an enterprise-level solution that delivers the ability to re-provision hundreds of satellites, thousands of beams, millions of services and ground-based assets (e.g., ground antennas, electronic warfare components) in response to changes in demand, interference and threat. It is a COTS solution addressing multi-missions, multi-orbits and multi-waveforms. Learn More at www.kratosdefense.com/openspace.
