On the ground, Kratos specializes in simulation systems for tracked and wheeled vehicles, including Bradley and Abrams tanks and High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems.
Kratos performed technology refreshes and upgrades to the U.S. Army Bradley M2/M3 A1 Hands-On Trainers (HOTs) to the M2/M3 A2 Operation Desert Storm (ODS) configuration. Kratos provided engineering, mechanical & electrical design, developed drawing packages, and performed fabrication and assembled for the 27 Bradley HOTS including all options.
The M2/M3 A2 ODS HOT training system provides training in critical unit level maintenance tasks required for the tactical vehicle. The HOT system provides skill level development for system operation, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, adjustments, removal/replacement, and servicing repair tasks.
As part of the U.S. Army M1 Abrams Maintenance Training System (MTS) team, Kratos conducted an in-depth technology refresh and systems upgrade to the MTS. The MTS provides training in critical field level maintenance tasks required for the maintenance personnel at the U.S. Army Armor School at Ft. Benning, GA. The training system is comprised of a Dialogistic and Trouble Shooting device (DT) and a HOT device. The HOT system provides for hands-on skill level development for system operation, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, adjustments, and removal/replacement, servicing, and repair tasks.
The High Mobility Artillery Rocket System Universal Fire Control Systems Advanced Maintenance Training System provides unit and intermediate skill-level development for entry-level and Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) transitioning technicians for HIMARS system familiarization and operation; fault recognition; troubleshooting and diagnosis; and removal, replacement, and adjustment of line replacement units (LRUs).
